Celebrate the History of Rum with the unique experience of Rum Running on the Bay.

Join us for a two and a half hour sunset sail on the Bay, while learning about rum, prohibition, sailing, food pairing, cocktail making and so much more!

Papa's Pilar Rum on the WoodwindDuring Prohibition (1920 to 1933) it was illegal to consume alcohol in the United States. Cruises to “Nowhere” were set up to allow people, on board these cruises, to enjoy the consumption of alcohol once the ships crossed into international waters. At the same time frame “rum runners” would smuggle rum and other spirits from the Caribbean into the United States to help supply alcohol for a speakeasy and other illegal watering holes.

Join the Woodwind and Papas Pilar as we invite you to join us on a unique adventure to recreate the experience of the true meaning of the “Booze Cruise”.
The captain and crew will be your guide for sailing the Bay, while Aaron Joseph is the mixologist and Papa’s Pilar Representative creating your cocktails and telling you about this noteworthy time period of our US history.
MENU:
Light and Breezy: Papa’s Pilar Blonde Rum, Citrus, Mint Syrup, & Ginger Beer.  A light refreshing spin on a familiar classic.
Paired with Grilled Shrimp with a Coconut Mango Salsa.
Zen of Pilar, a Green Tea Punch: A secret recipe with flavors of Tropical Green Tea, Orchard Fruit, and Bright Citrus Notes. The zen of the sea meets the spirit of Key West. Paired with Shredded Caribbean Jerk Chicken over a Crunchy Slaw.
Sunset on the Bay: A Coffee, Dark Rum Old Fashion. Another secret recipe with great flavors of baking spices, earthy notes, and a smooth mahogany finish.  Paired with a Coffee Rubbed Steak over a Farro & Wild Mushrooms Salad.
Dessert Shot: Sherry Cask Rum Rated 95 in the Caribbean Rum Journal, this well-received expression has notes of toasted baking spices, caramel, and vanilla. Paired with Creamy Rum Raisin Cheesecake.
Schooner Woodwind’s Cocktail Cruises are a very casual affair. Courses are served picnic-style and food is presented chilled or at room temperature. You will thoroughly enjoy the event aboard. We really do sail, so wear soft soled shoes. And please, feel free to raise the sails, steer the boat, or sit back and relax.
