Light Wind Day

Captain's Blog    No Comments

It was a very light wind day. Our 1st trip was traded to Woodwind so we ended up doing maintenance on Woodwind II till our 1330 charter.

We had a group of 18 and headed out to the bay. There were big ships anchored everywhere, the osprey chicks were coming out of their nests, it was clear and you could see the lighthouse off Bloody Point…..The only thing missing WIND.

With our lack of wind we decided to motor sail down to the Thomas Point Lighthouse, which is always fun to see. We did find a little breeze out in the middle of the bay and sailed for a bit, but ended up having to motor sail home.

Just being out on the water though was enough so everyone could enjoy themselves, and they did! Another successful voyage!

About Captain Mickey

Working as a Captain on the Schooner Woodwind is awesome. I figured out how to get paid for my favorite hobby(sailing). I started sailing when I was 6 years old right here on the bay. I am a very avid sailboat racer and when not working you can usually find me out racing. I lived/sailed in the Caribbean for 24 yrs. I returned to the Bay area 4 years ago and enjoy every day I am on the water!!
